Anusitis

Relieving anusitis with homoeopathy

Anusitis is an inflammation of the anus, characterized by pain, redness and sometimes liquid discharge. The causes are diverse and the pathology can result, among other things, from the presence of haemorrhoids, from a skin infection caused by repetitive washing, or from a sexually transmitted disease resulting in the appearance of genital warts in the anal region. There are two main forms of anusitis, including streptococcal anusitis, generally observed among children, and seborrhoeic dermatitis.

Symptoms of anusitis

Anusitis usually manifests itself by tingles in the anal region, followed by burning and itching sensations. Among certain patients, anusitis can lead to serous or serohematic oozing if they have contracted a sexually transmitted disease such as gonorrhoea.

Among children, a bright red perianal erythema can be observed. It is usually well-delineated and painful. Anusitis can manifest itself in the form of a fungal infection or eczema. Sometimes, these symptoms are preceded by a pharyngitis accompanied by a prelabial impetigo.

Dosage of homoeopathic remedies used to treat anusitis

The prescribed homoeopathic remedy will depend on the secondary symptoms.  If the anusitis causes burning sensation around the anal region, take 5 granules of Hura Brasillensis 5 CH four times a day.

In case of an anal inflammation accompanied by stinging sensations that worsens at the time of defecation, it is recommended to take 5 granules of Paeonia Officinalis 5 CH four times a day.

To relieve an acute or chronic inflammation of the anal region, another possibility is to take 5 granules of Paeonia Officinalis 5CH three to four times a day over a 10-day period.

When should you consult a doctor?

If you are suffering from burning sensations, suspicious oozing, bleeding or unexplained itching in the anal region, it is mandatory to seek medical attention. All of these symptoms can be warning signs of anusitis, which can be confirmed by an anoscopic examination. In some cases, the doctor will look for STDs, a possible cause of anusitis, in order to provide adequate treatment. Sometimes, an in-depth medical examination can lead to the discovery of a fistula or anal cancer.

Pathology and homeopathy are two fields of scientific research that go hand in hand. As a matter of fact, homeopathic research on a disease is always accompanied by a pathological study of that disease. Pathology is the scientific field that studies diseases, while homeopathy is a gentle method for treating diseases. Homeopathic treatment follows the principles of similarity (Similia similibus curentur or "likes are cured by likes") and comprehensiveness. There is no universal treatment for a given disease; it must be adapted to each patient.
