Diabetes is a disease that affects the human body’s metabolic process. It is characterized by an excessive presence of sugar in the blood due to an insulin deficiency. Diabetes occurs in two forms, both of which can have relatively serious consequences on the patient’s health: insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. In the first case, the body fails to produce insulin and is unable to direct the sugar contained in the blood towards the cells. But in the second case, the disease is caused by insulin resistance, a condition in which cells fail to use insulin properly.
A person that has diabetes can be recognized by his or her constant need to drink and / or urinate. He or she regularly complains of fatigue, abdominal pain, rapidly wastes away and can develop skin conditions or infections around the genital area.
Type 1 diabetes, or insulin-dependent diabetes, is often observed in young subjects of which the organisms are favourable to the disease’s natural development. It is thus the patient’s own immune system that prevents the production of insulin in the body.
A person with type 2 diabetes, or non-insulin dependent diabetes, produces insulin normally but the body does not use it properly. This leads to an excessive amount of glucose in the blood, which then causes the progressive destruction of the pancreas, the organ that produces insulin. This can result from ageing, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, ovarian cysts, a blood vessel condition, etc.. It should be noted that this is the most commonly diagnosed form of diabetes, even though it is usually asymptomatic. The older and the more obese a person is, the more likely it is that he or she will suffer from type 2 diabetes.
Homoeopathic treatments are recommended to alleviate the pain resulting from pancreatic dysfunction. In this context, use Syzygium, known for its ability to eliminate or reduce the sugar level in the blood. The recommended dosage is five granules in the morning, on an empty stomach, over several months. This treatment can be completed by Glycerinum, of which the prolonged action aims to correct metabolism dysfunctions. The weight loss and general fatigue gradually disappear and the patient recovers his well-being.
However, if the disease is diagnosed early enough, it is better to take 1 or 2 granules of Helonias, three times a day. It is very effective in the treatment of symptoms resulting from the onset of diabetes: plenty of urine, intense thirst, dry lips, etc.. Magnesium aceticum is highly active against diabetes mellitus. However, when pain, in all its forms, accompanies the symptoms, Rhus aromatica, Diversiloba, Eupatorium purpureum or Momordica balsamina are recommended. As for female patients, they are advised to take Grataegus monogyna.
As soon as the first symptoms indicating the possible presence of diabetes, it is recommended to seek medical attention immediately. Once the diagnosis has been established, behavioural changes will need to be made accordingly. Thus, patients with type 2 diabetes may rely exclusively on homoeopathic treatment and a good diet to counter the disease. But patients with type 1 diabetes are required to maintain contact with their physician and follow an appropriate and conventional treatment to protect themselves against any unfortunate complication. Among the known complications one can include arteriosclerosis, cardiovascular diseases, skin or nerve conditions, gangrene, etc…
Good to know: Homoeopathy maintains the body’s natural balance to help it face side effects resulting from diabetes such as blood flow disorders and stress-related complications. It is advisable to combine it with traditional medicine since it limits adverse side effects that can cause the patient’s general condition to deteriorate.
