Enuresis

Overcoming enuresis with homoeopathy

Enuresis is a urinary pathology that affects children over 5 years old. It is manifested by the fact that the child urinates in his or her bed while sleeping. There are multiple factors responsible for this condition, although they are not well-known. To remedy this pathology, it is advised to resort to homoeopathic treatment.

Symptoms and consequences of enuresis

Some signs indicate that a child is affected by enuresis. These include, among others, wet bed sheets and the child waking up in tears during the night. It should be noted that enuresis can lead to complications regarding the child’s psychological health since he or she loses all self-confidence as a result of this disease.

Treating enuresis

The homoeopathic treatment for dealing with enuresis consists of taking remedies of which the composition is based on natural substances. One can take Cypressus 4 CH, which is a remedy derived from cypress. It is also possible to administer the child 3 granules of Belladonna 9 CH daily if he or she is agitated or talks during sleep. In some cases, when the child’s urine has a strong smell, Benzoicum acidum 9 CH is recommended and should be taken in the morning, at noon and in the evening.

One may also resort to Equisetum hienale 6 CH, of which three granules need to be taken three times a day. In case the child urinates and defecates simultaneously at night, he or she can be administered Hyoscyamus 9 CH three times a day. Sometimes, the child is only able to urinate during the second part of the night. In that case, he or she needs to be given Sepia 9 CH three times a day. In addition to all of these homoeopathic remedies, you can also include oat flakes in the child’s diet. Finally, prevent him or her from drinking before bed.

When should you consult a doctor?

It is advisable to consult a doctor if the child, from the age of 5, regularly and involuntarily wets the bed, thus having to put on a diaper before going to bed. It is also important to see a doctor if the child frequently feels the need to go to the bathroom during the day and if he or she complains of pain during urination afterwards.

Pathology and homeopathy are two fields of scientific research that go hand in hand. As a matter of fact, homeopathic research on a disease is always accompanied by a pathological study of that disease. Pathology is the scientific field that studies diseases, while homeopathy is a gentle method for treating diseases. Homeopathic treatment follows the principles of similarity (Similia similibus curentur or "likes are cured by likes") and comprehensiveness. There is no universal treatment for a given disease; it must be adapted to each patient.
