Spasmophilia

Treating spasmophilia with homoeopathy

Spasmophilia is not a disease but a state of nerve and muscle hypersensitivity. It is usually manifested by mental disorders and physical spasms. It is caused by a magnesium deficiency, and tends to affect women more often. A person suffering from spasmophilia is thus very vulnerable to its surrounding environment and to the stress of everyday life.

Main symptoms of spasmophilia

Spasmophilia symptoms begin with the onset of tingling sensations in various parts of the body (face, arms, legs), that may or may not be accompanied by muscular cramps and feelings of dizziness. Spasms may occur in other parts of the body and lead to a tightening of the throat or stomach, intestinal colitis and uterine contractions. In some cases, muscular and joint pain is widespread and the jaws stiffen up. Spasmophilia may also manifest itself with other symptoms such as asthenia (heavy fatigue), blurred vision (shaking eyelids), hearing disorders (tinnitus) and a rapid heartbeat (tachycardia). In addition, other symptoms include sleep disorders, breathing difficulties and depression. In extreme cases, the patient feels depressed, melancholic, and may even have suicidal tendencies.

Treatment of spasmophilia

The treatment involves three main steps: supplies of calcium and magnesium, intakes of trace elements and a disease-modifying homoeopathic treatment. In concrete terms, the patient will need to start by taking calcium and magnesium homoeopathic tablets to regulate the levels of these minerals in the body. T hen, it will be necessary to take a dose of Cuprum metallicum 15 CH 15 at the first sign of a fit, as well as five granules of Ignatia amara 9 CH per day to reduce hypersensitivity.

When should you consult a doctor?

It is advisable to consult a doctor when the patient’s condition does not improve within 72 hours after the treatment. Recurrence of symptoms in a cured person is also a warning sign that should not be taken lightly.

Pathology and homeopathy are two fields of scientific research that go hand in hand. As a matter of fact, homeopathic research on a disease is always accompanied by a pathological study of that disease. Pathology is the scientific field that studies diseases, while homeopathy is a gentle method for treating diseases. Homeopathic treatment follows the principles of similarity (Similia similibus curentur or "likes are cured by likes") and comprehensiveness. There is no universal treatment for a given disease; it must be adapted to each patient.
