Arsenicum Iodatum is a homoeopathic remedy made ??from arsenic triiodide, a chemical substance that comes in the form of orange, odourless and acidic crystals. It instantly acts on the skin and mucous membranes of the respiratory organs. In homoeopathy, it is used in the form of granules and is available in several dilutions, all of which are expressed in centesimal Hahnemannian or CH.
Arsenicum Iodatum can be combined to other homoeopathic remedies and is very effective against several skin conditions such as fungal skin infections, dermatitis, psoriasis, lichen planus, eczema and ichthyosis. It is also recommended in cases of herpetic, scaly and/or crusty skin rashes, and it effectively treats indurated or common acne that result in peeling and dry skin. In addition, Arsenicum Iodatum can also be used on dry skin on which slightly inflamed patches with a squamous edge develop, but also when the patient suffers from burning sensations despite the fact that his or her skin does not feel warm to the touch.
Arsenicum Iodatum can be prescribed in case of swelling of the sub-mandibular glands, chronic rhinitis, spasmodic cough and asthma. It is also recommended in cases of acute coryza accompanied by sneezing, epistaxis, burning eyes, nostril inflammation, headaches and nasal discharge. Arsenicum Iodatum also treats acute conditions characterized by profuse, greenish, purulent, thick, watery, itchy and burning nasal discharge, and it also relieves patients suffering from nasal obstruction. Finally, it can be used to treat chronic conditions accompanied by yellowish, thick and purulent secretions and can be used to alleviate ringing in the ears.
Arsenicum Iodatum is effective against heart rate disorder, cardiosclerosis, arteriosclerosis, pericarditis and palpitations. It is especially recommended when the heart condition leads to severe pain, adipose degeneration, constriction and anxiety.
Arsenicum Iodatum can also be taken by patients who suffer from nutritional or metabolic problems characterized by a lack of sensitivity to the cold, exhaustion and weight loss without any food restriction or a decreasing appetite. It is also recommended in case of asthenia, and has beneficial effects on recovering patients.
In cases of dry eczema with large patches, take five granules of Arsenicum Iodatum 7 cH twice a day or three capsules of Arsenicum Iodatum 9 cH, three times a day. In case of mycosis take 3 granules of Arsenicum Iodatum 5 cH and 3 granules of Sepia 5 cH, two to three times a day. In case of psoriasis, take four granules of Arsenicum Iodatum 7 CH once or twice a day for two weeks, depending on the severity of the disease.
To treat rhinopharyngitis accompanied by yellow nasal discharge resulting in lip irritation, take three granules of Arsenicum Iodatum 9 CH, 3 times a day. But if the disease mainly occurs in the form of nasal irritation, the remedy used must have a dilution of 4 CH.
In case of heart disorder or metabolic and nutritional problems, the dosage will depend on the patient’s condition and on the severity of his or her illness. Thus, consulting a homoeopath will be mandatory.
