Calcarea phosphorica

Treating rheumatic and traumatic disorders with Calcarea phosphorica

Calcarea phosphorica is a homeopathic remedy prepared from calcium phosphate, a substance also known as “tricalcium phosphate”. Being a natural substance responsible for the constitution of bones, tricalcium phosphate is involved in the treatment of many diseases related to the bones and joints. Existing in various forms, Calcarea phosphorica is mainly used in the form of granules and triturations, for children as well as adults.

Indications in traumatology

Calcarea phosphorica is used as a post-trauma treatment during a period of convalescence in order to help the patient recover his or her previous state of health. This remedy is also prescribed in case of fracture to strengthen the bones that are still fragile.

Indications in rheumatology

Calcarea phosphorica is a remedy that is mainly recommended for the treatment of chronic inflammatory joint diseases, better known as “ankylosing spondylitis”. It is also prescribed in cases of sacroiliac joint arthralgia, groin strain, Sudeck’s disease as well as bone or joint pain that is aggravated by the cold or moisture.

Childhood disorders

Calcarea phosphorica is recommended for treating growth and digestive disorders in infants and children. Patients requiring a Calcarea phosphorica treatment are often bright, lanky and vivacious. They also tend to grow in stages and suffer from growing pain and severe fatigue at the end of a school term. Attracted by salty and smoked foods, they often reject other foods. During adolescence, these patients become dreamy and unstable, and get static spinal disorders: Osgood Schaltter disease, Scheuermann’s disease and thoracic kyphosis.

Indications in gynaecology

Calcarea phosphorica is a remedy used in gynaecology to fight against Leucorrhoea, dysmenorrhea and hypermenorrhea, a condition that affects adolescent girls, and in cases of vaginal discharge, painful and overly abundant menstruation.

Other indications

Calcarea phosphorica is also recommended in case of recurrent lung and ENT infections. It is also used to treat acne present in teenage girls suffering from overwork, intense fatigue and headaches related to intellectual burnouts.

Pathology and homeopathy are two fields of scientific research that go hand in hand. As a matter of fact, homeopathic research on a disease is always accompanied by a pathological study of that disease. Pathology is the scientific field that studies diseases, while homeopathy is a gentle method for treating diseases. Homeopathic treatment follows the principles of similarity (Similia similibus curentur or "likes are cured by likes") and comprehensiveness. There is no universal treatment for a given disease; it must be adapted to each patient.
