Nitricum acidum is a homoeopathic remedy made from nitric acid, also known as spirit of nitre or aqua fortis. In its natural state, it has the appearance of a colourless fluid. Nitric acid is a substance that helps overcome germs or prevent their development. This substance is thus an effective antiseptic and a good disinfectant.
Nitricum acidum is especially recommended in case of gastric and duodenal ulcers accompanied by intense pain. In this case, the liver and spleen areas are particularly affected by this painful sensation. Painful ganglions appear in the groin area and a series of other unpleasant symptoms can also be observed. The patient may indeed have flatulence problems that may cause rumbling in the stomach and intestines. In addition, this homoeopathic remedy is also prescribed in case of chronic constipation.
In homoeopathy, Nitricum acidum is also used in dermatology and is particularly recommended in the treatment of warts. Nitricum acidum should be used when the lesions or tiny excrescences that appear on the skin are jagged and yellowish. The same applies when the warts are painful and cause burning sensations, resulting in redness on the hands and feet. In fact, Nitricum acidum is particularly recommended to treat warts located on the feet’s soles. Finally, this homoeopathic remedy can also be prescribed in case of canker sores, particularly when they bleed easily. Nitricum acidum also helps to relieve painful scars, particularly in bad weather.
Nitricum acidum also has significant therapeutic value for use in gynecology. For example, it is indicated in the treatment of genital warts, a sexually transmitted disease that manifests itself through the appearance of small cauliflower-shaped blisters. These outgrowths are burning, painful and bleed easily and the symptoms are worst in the evening and at night. This remedy is also prescribed in case of abnormal vaginal discharge, such as a brown-coloured or blood-stained fluid, or when the hairs around the genital area fall out. Finally, Nitricum acidum is also indicated for dealing with early menstruation.
Nitricum acidum is also very effective for micturation disorders, for example if the patient wakes up at night to urinate but the urine only comes out in thin jets. In this cases, the urine has a strong smell and is of dark, red and sometimes bloody colour. Moreover, urination causes feelings of sharp and burning pain, in addition to which men feel a narrowing sensation of the urethral orifice.
In case of chronic stomach ulcers, take 3 granules of Nitricum acidum 9 CH every morning, afternoon and evening during the duration of the attacks. For constipation problems it is also recommended to take the same remedy in a dilution of 9 CH, to be replaced by Nitricum acidum 15 CH from the fifteenth day.
To get rid of warts, 5 daily granules of Nitricum acidum 9 CH are usually prescribed. One can also take 5 granules of Nitricum acidum 7 CH every morning and evening. The treatment lasts 2 months. In case of plantar warts or canker sores, Nitricum acidum 5 CH will also be prescribed. Regarding canker sores, the recommended dose is 5 granules to be taken twice a day, preferably in the morning upon awakening and in the evening before going to bed. To treat plantar warts, 3 granules should be taken in the morning, afternoon and evening. Taking this remedy should also reduce pain and bleeding.
In case of genital warts, it is recommended to take 3 daily granules of Nitricum acidum 5 CH in the morning, afternoon and evening. For women with bloody or brownish leucorrhoea, practitioners prescribe Nitricum acidum 7 CH.
Micturation disorders are usually not among the symptoms commonly treated with Nitricum acidum. Therefore, even if the previously mentioned symptoms appear, it is important to get a medical opinion as well . The doctor will be the one to prescribe the most suitable and most appropriate dosage depending on the symptoms’ nature and intensity.
Good to know: It is also possible to take Nitricum acidum in case of haemorrhoids or anal fissure problems.
