Tarentula hispana is a homoeopathic remedy made from the Tarantula, a spider from the Lycosidae family. In Europe, this spider is commonly found in the Mediterranean basin. The tarantula can be 4 to 7 cm long, has a grey back and a yellow belly marked by a black stripe. To defend itself, this spider injects venom with its two fangs. To prepare this remedy’s mother tincture, completely crush the tarantula before placing the obtained powder in 90°-alcohol for 2 to 3 weeks.
Tarentula hispana is prescribed in case of great anxiety, fear and hallucination. It is also used for people who feel the presence of ghosts, monsters, insects, or dangerous reptiles. This remedy is used to treat depressed people who are sometimes sad and in tears, and other times jovial. Furthermore, Tarantula hispana provides relief to patients on the verge of a nervous breakdown and who need to be constantly monitored to avoid any risk of anger fits. Indeed, they can sometimes become aggressive and may hurt themselves or other people.
Tarentula hispana is also useful to treat cases of delirium that prevent the patient from organizing his or her ideas or recalling recent events. This homoeopathic remedy is equally indicated for sleeping disorders -especially for 2 to 3 year old children who wake up several times at night, cry, scream and get agitated without reason. Finally, Tarantula hispana is sometimes used to treat insect bites. However, it should not be used if you do not know the source of the bite with certainty.
To relieve patients who are depressed, anxious or prone to frequent hallucinations, it is recommended to take 5 granules of Tarentula hispana 7 to 9 CH three times a day. Tantrums can also be alleviated by taking 3 granules of Tarantula hispana 15 CH every 30 or 60 minutes until sedation. Patients who have difficulties thinking clearly will need to take 5 granules of Tarantula hispana 15 CH three times a day. Sleeping disorders can be alleviated by combining 3 granules of Tarentula hispana 15 CH with Coffea Tosta 30 CH. To avoid any complication after an insect bite, 5 granules of Tarentula 5 CH should be taken 3 times a day.
